Being a complimentary art post to the web story of the same name that I posted here two weeks ago. Let’s just say that the Grim Reaper with a cute kitty was a visual theme I found hard to let go.
These were all drawn over the course of a week using only a VBall pilot pen (no pencil sketch underneath). They were drawn in coffee shops, waiting rooms, and my aunt’s living room. Though they are each dated, I have them arranged here in the order I think suits them best. They will all be going to the World Fantasy Art Show next week, and I have prints (and other goodies) available for order online through my deviantART shop. Click on any of the pictures to see what products I have for sale.
This one was sketched over lunch at the Dana Street Roasting Co. in downtown Mountain View. An excellent little café—I highly recommend it.
The thing I remember most about this day, is it was the day I got my braces on. But that is a subject for another post.
As I finished these I would text pictures to my aunt, who is a big fan of cats in general.
This image was one of the first to come into my head. I felt this series would be incomplete without it.
A visual joke, and the last of the sketches. Not sure which party is responsible here.
Finally, I have prints and greeting cards available for the painting that started it all over here. Now I must be off to mat artwork for the show. Hopefully I will see some of you at WFC next week—anyone going to meet and greet at Bakka Phoenix Books on Halloween? I heard they are encouraging costumes (yes!) so I will be going as a baby in a trench coat (which actually isn’t far off how I usually dress at conventions, ask Emma Bull). See if you can find me.
