December Story and Announcement
Hello everyone! This is the cover for December’s short story, which CSA members will have received a link to earlier this week. It’s about a girl who becomes a hero by saving her world’s version of a dugong.
It is also the last monthly short story for… a while.

Because starting in January 2023 I’ll be bringing CSA members monthly audiobooks. Well, or parts of one. Here’s the juice:
I’ve wanted to make audiobooks of my stories for a long time. I love doing voices and narrating my fiction. Problem? Time. (Of course time.) Solution? Become answerable to my CSA members! So starting January instead of a monthly eBook, you’ll get a monthly Raw Audio Special. These will be one chapter (or one short story) of a book, delivered by a link just like the eBooks. They will not be edited beyond the pure basics, because the point here is to get me recording and sharing, not spending hours trimming off my sssses. I can do that after I have the raw audio for a whole book ready to release to the public. Which, when the finished audiobook is ready, all current CSA members will get a copy—just like new releases of eBooks.
Not an audio person? Not a problem! Once I get a chunk of audio recorded I’ll go back to sending out monthly eBooks. So either way you get a bit of story every month. But I’m excited to start recording again, and if you want to hear some of what’s to come, go check out the audio specials on Heliopause that I did for Driving Arcana Wheel 3.
For my first audio special project I’ll be recording Professor Odd: the Complete Season One, one episode per month, over the first half of 2023. I’m excited, and I hope you’re excited, too!

Eclipsing Wolf [art post]
I drawing I started (literally) years ago that I finished last month as a little brain-changer before diving into my next big illustration project. It features Elo, the hero of Professor Odd, bearing her weapon of choice: a portable temporal field manipulator AKA the Time Gun. It’s ended up as the artwork for this year’s …
Holiday Gifts, 2018 Edition
It’s December, which means holiday shopping, and like any self-respecting entrepreneur I’ve got a special going over at Heliopause Productions: free gift-wrap and personalization—plus I’ll work with you to drop ship your gifts directly to their recipients! More details here. I’m not actually holding any sales, but my print prices are going up significantly in 2019, …
Summer 2018 Retrospective
This summer has been highlighted by two big conventions I attended, and the book I published in between. July was AnthroCon, my tenth consecutive and my ninth as a dealer, and for the first time I had my dear, Wonderful Mother along to help keep me sane, fed, and productive. It was fantastic. AnthroCon is …
The Time Being [art post]
A quick gander through my online gallery shows a shocking absence! The original cover art for Professor Odd Episode 8: “Chronostrophe“! Colored pencils on 12″x9″ bristol board, 2016. I went through a number of concepts before settling on this one. It makes visual reference to a number of things from the story, and as such makes …
Award Elligibility Roundup 2018
So last year I was in Helsinki for WorldCon and watched The Hugos on twitter in the hotel bar with David Levine and Mari Ness and it was wonderful, but because the stream for the show went down, I did not get to see Ursula’s amazing Whalefall acceptance speech. I’ve since read the dramatized version and …
