A set of five little (3.5″x5″) pieces for the 2018 World Fantasy Artshow that I completed earlier this month! First up, the WITCHY KITTIES!
This is Ursula. She could be named after Ursula K. Le Guin, but she’s also got a chicken in the back of her cauldron and that seems reminiscent of Ursula Vernon. Either way she’s in good company. Colored pencil.
Diana is sort of based off a Selkirk Rex, but she is definitely named for Diana Wynne Jones. Her entire costume is like a visual representation of a DWJ book. And her familiar, of course, is the Red Dragon of Wales. Colored pencil.
“So Fine” – A Royal Blue Heart-tailed Dragonette, making sure their scales are the shiniest anywhere. Watercolor.
“Little Busy” – This Spring Green Heart-tailed Dragonette really wishes you would leave them in peace while they do their legs. Watercolor.
“What” – You have rudely interrupted this Lavender-Peach Heart-tailed Dragonette. No matter, they will keep going. If you see something you’d rather not you’ve only yourself to blame. Watercolor.
Like I said at the top, all five of these are bound for the WFC Artshow, but if any come home they’ll be available online. Prints should be turning up in the Heliopause webstore shortly…
